I Just Got Out Of Jail

Escape From CaptivityHave you been in jail? Do you know what it’s like to look at your life and feel like you’re in prison?

Technically the doors of your cell have been open all along, but you stay inside the familiar space. Sometimes you have dared to venture out when you hear someone preach the message of freedom…you gingerly step out of the door, feeling excited about leaving this place until you make a HUGE mistake; your eyes drift down and you look at yourself only to see that —well—you’re exactly that same! Nothing has changed at all, so you must not really be free or else you’d look totally different. You then step back in your cell to continue living in self imposed bondage.

We might choose to lose weight, so we eat healthy, exercise for a few days and then –OOPS! Look at in the mirror and still see the same person.   We thought we could be free of the weight and nagging health issues, but it doesn’t look like we are yet, so we get discouraged and quit. We haven’t stayed focused on what we ARE the moment we chose to get healthy. It doesn’t matter what we look like now, we ARE what we choose to become the moment we turn around and the outside body will catch up as long as we stay focused on today and stop looking at the past.

Maybe you’ve been through every financial program out there like my husband and I…. Dave Ramsey, Crown Financial, Ron Blue…. You get excited about getting debt free, about spending less and saving more for a few days— but then OOPS!!!! You look at your bank account and it’s still overdrawn so you let hopelessness speak to you and go buy some ice cream and new shoes to make yourself feel better.

The issue is we fail to understand that we ARE different as soon as we decide. It doesn’t matter if your circumstances look the same. As soon as you repent and choose this day to serve God according to His laws that He placed in the world, you shift your atmosphere.   You do not have to PAY for the overspending you did last week by not getting your basic food needs this week. You do not need to PAY for the years of overeating by starving yourself today. You will not succeed by PAYING for anything you’ve done. Choosing to pay will put you right back in jail.

You must accept grace and forgiveness. You must choose to walk as though you are what you’ve chosen to be –and what God says you are.

“Elohim makes a home for the lonely; He brings out into prosperity those who are bound with chains…” Psalms 68:6 ISR

God is in the business of bringing those who have been bound –bound by weight, poor health, debt, strained relationships, drugs, adultery, your sin – into PROSPERITY. Prosperity doesn’t mean just barely making it; prosperity is thriving.

I just left my own prison this past weekend at First Steps to Success as things “clicked” for me in a totally new way.  My freedom isn’t just for me, it’s for me to share– so this is my encouragement for you:

I have asked Elohim that as you read this you will receive impartation for freedom and the ability to walk as Elohim sees you and has called you to be. I have asked that He will show you TODAY what He designed you to do, what He delights in over you and what you look like as a free person  I pray from this day forward you will walk in His FULL destiny for you.
