31 Ways to a Healthier You

by Mary Clendenin

Good health is a blessing. It usually isn’t something you think about much until you have experienced poor health that you realize how important it is. It isn’t just something we are just blessed with genetically. Even though that may play a factor, it is something that we have to consistently work on.

In these busy, on the go, fast food days, it is important to focus on our health. We have to make choices that help us toward our goals. This is an area that I often fail in but am trying to do better so I can be the best wife, mom, business woman I can me. It isn’t selfish, it is necessary to take care of you.

What are some steps that we all can take to becoming healthier?

Make good choices ~ every choice impacts more than just our life. Every bite of food we eat, negative thought or choosing not to get enough sleep will negatively effect more than just us.

Get Quality Sleep ~ Try to get 8 hours every night. Sleep without the TV or lights for a better quality sleep.

Drink Water ~ Aim for 8 glasses a day

Start your day off with a good breakfast ~ Breakfast gets the needed vitamins and nutrients going in our body when we start the day off with a healthy meal. It also help maintain healthy body weight.

Eat lots of veggies ~ Vegetables provide us with vitamins and nutrients that our bodies need to function. There are so many delicious choices and you can eat as much as you want.

Step Away from the Sugar and artificial sweeteners ~ Choose raw honey or stevia for a healthy sweetener.

Kick the Soda Habit

Choose healthy foods

Lower stress ~ Stress is bad for us on so many levels. Take steps to lower our stress and be in charge of our reactions to situations.

Exercise ~ Take a walk, ride a bike…do something together as a family. Rebounding is an excellent form of exercise and gets your lymphatic system pumping.

Breathe Deeper ~ We need to concentrate on breathing deeper than we do. It brings more oxygen into our lungs and heart, helps our body detoxify and helps us think clearer. Plus, it gives us a chance to focus on something and take a few minutes to concentrate.

Relaxing Baths ~ A warm bath at the end of the day is a great way to help you relax and get a good night’s sleep. Throw in some epsom salts. You will feel refreshed.

Body Brush ~ Great to tone your skin and keep your lymphatic system pumping

Take vitamins and supplements

Have a hobby ~ Do something that you enjoy!

Have fun with your family ~ Make memories and cherish every day.

Turn off the TV ~ get away from the negativity going on around us.

Get some fresh air

Cut down on toxins in your home ~ Choose healthier products to clean your home with and for personal care.

Put down your phone ~ When you run online businesses from home like Kayla and I do, it can be easy to be permanently attached to your phone. I have found I have to make a conscious choice to put it down and walk away. Nothing is going to stop if I am not checking my phone every 5 minutes. Our minds need a break

Be grateful

Keep a journal

Enrich your mind

Be in charge of your thoughts ~ Don’t let negative thoughts control you and your emotions.

Go for a walk

Laugh

Listen to uplifting music

Read a good book

Choose happiness

Watch the words you speak ~Choose to speak life to those around you. Let go of negativity in your own life and be positive when speaking to others.

Be consistent in your efforts to be healthy

What are some steps that you take to live a healthier life?
